In a significant move to protect user privacy, WhatsApp has implemented screenshot blocking for profile pictures. On both Android and iOS, when a user tries to take a screenshot of a DP, the action is either blocked entirely (Android) or the resulting screenshot is blank with a “Screen capture blocked” message (iOS). This feature is now widely rolled out in stable versions of the app.
