Step 1 — Remove the battery
Open the laptop and use a plastic pry tool to separate the seam between the top palmrest and the bottom base.

Remove all screws on the bottom case that were previously hidden under the battery and service door.

Apply a small, pea-sized drop of new thermal paste to the center of the CPU die. Do not spread it manually; the pressure of screwing down the heatsink will spread it evenly.
Remove all screws located under the keyboard area that secure the top casing. Flip the laptop back upside down. If you share with third parties, their policies apply
